Hours: 35.5 per week, term time plus 10 days

At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 2 – 5, with many learners having an EHCP and some in the process of applying for an EHCP. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to supporting learners with complex needs; neurodiversity; communication and interaction needs and many who have experienced early trauma.

We are excited to offer a new opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our team.

Reporting to the Strategic Lead for SEN and Inclusion, you will deliver high-quality speech and language assessments and interventions across all our sites, develop personalised support plans, build staff knowledge through training and support, and work collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals to support learner’s wellbeing, helping them to achieve their full potential.

This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for a passionate and adaptable Speech and Language Therapist who wants to deliver high-impact support to learners and Pivot staff across the academy.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver specialist speech and language assessments and high-impact interventions that remove the barriers to learners with communication, engagement and social skills progress.
  • Create and oversee personalised therapy and intervention programmes, supporting and training staff to ensure learners have meaningful outcomes aligned with EHCPs and individual support plan needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, families and professionals to embed communication and interaction knowledge and skills across the whole school environment and sites.
  • Build staff confidence and capability through training, coaching and modelling inclusive communication strategies and best practice.
  • Play a key role in shaping inclusive, accessible learning environments while contributing to transitions, reviews and whole school approaches to speech, language and communication needs.

What we’re looking for

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • A qualified and registered Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration and up-to-date professional development, ideally experienced in education or specialist settings.
  • Strong specialist expertise in speech, language and communication needs, with the ability to plan, deliver and measure the impact of effective interventions.
  • A confident collaborator and communicator to a variety of audiences, with the ability to provide training and advice to build wider school capacity.
  • Highly professional, values driven and inclusive, with excellent organisation, ethical practice and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes, wellbeing and equity for learners.

This role is based across multiple sites in West Yorkshire, with regular travel between sites. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

We offer

  • A supportive and forward-thinking school culture
  • Ongoing professional development and support for relevant qualifications
  • Flexible working arrangements, with office hubs in Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield
  • Focus on wellbeing for all & access to an employee assistance programme.
  • Further additional benefits, including a blue light card entitlement, eye-test reimbursement and death in service benefit

Don’t miss this opportunity, apply now by completing an application form and returning to the HR team at recruitment@pivot-group.co.uk.

Closing Date:    04 May 2026

Interviews:        From 11 May 2026

We do encourage you to submit your application form as soon as possible, as we reserve the right to change the closing date for a vacancy and interview before the advertised closing date.

We are committed to safeguarding our young people and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check and appropriate referencing.

During the shortlisting process, Pivot will carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of its due diligence.
