Do you believe in the transformative power of education?

Join our mission to inspire and empower young people, making a lasting impact on their lives.

At Pivot we believe children deserve better. We are a specialist independent provision with sites in Kirklees, Wakefield, Leeds and Bradford. In our academies we teach and support learners from Key Stages 2 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some complex and challenging learners, many of whom come to us with some traumatic backgrounds.

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Outreach Instructor to join our Kirklees provision.

Pivot Academy Kirklees provides education and therapeutic support for learners who have social & emotional mental health, sensory or executive function challenges who may be supported by an EHCP. We work with families to provide bespoke provision based on the individual needs of each learner, giving them opportunities to gain a variety of qualifications, following personalised pathways through to further education or employment.

What you will do:

  • Deliver engaging learning activities and tailored support to learners with social, emotional and mental health needs, both individually and in small groups.
  • Deliver learning and support in a variety of settings, including learners’ homes, community locations, and POP hubs, adapting teaching approaches to meet individual need.
  • Plan and prepare lessons in line with the National Curriculum, create inclusive and stimulating learning experiences, and work closely with colleagues to maintain a safe, supportive and purposeful environment where all learners can thrive.
  • Build positive and strong relationships with learners, families and external agencies to support educational, social and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider POP team to contribute to student reviews, case documentation, safeguarding and future provision planning.

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and adaptable individual with experience supporting learners with SEMH and/or additional needs. You will have a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and the ability to deliver this to differing needs. You will have strong relationship-building, communication and organisational skills. A commitment to safeguarding, inclusive education and supporting learners’ wellbeing is essential.

Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change the lives of our learners and we truly believe you will find working here a rewarding experience.

We offer:

  • A supportive and forward-thinking school culture
  • Ongoing professional development and support for relevant qualifications
  • Focus on wellbeing for all & access to employee assistance programmes
  • Flexible working arrangements and early finish Fridays
  • Further additional benefits, including blue light card entitlement, eye-test reimbursement, financial wellbeing service, work mobile phone and death in service benefit

Don’t miss this opportunity, apply now by completing an application form and returning to the HR team at recruitment@pivot-group.co.uk.

Closing Date:    23 September 2026

We do encourage you to submit your application form as soon as possible as we reserve the right to change the closing date for a vacancy.

We are committed to safeguarding our young people and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check and appropriate referencing.

During the shortlisting process, Pivot will carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of its due diligence.
