At Pivot, we ensure you have the time, support and flexibility to shape futures.
Join our mission to inspire and empower learners, and make a lasting impact on their lives.
Hours: 22.5 per week (can be worked flexibly), term time plus 10 days
At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 2 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with some traumatic backgrounds.
The Pivot Outreach Programme (POP) is a growing provision which aims to re-engage learners with social, emotional and mental health needs who may have been out of education for some time. Within POP, learners are provided with both academic and pastoral activities, delivered off site, at pupil’s homes and within the POP hub.
Due to the success of the provision, we are growing rapidly and currently seeking a part-time teacher to join the team, teaching learners in Key Stages 3 and 4. As a teacher, you will plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for learners in order to enable them to make progress according to their learning pathways.
Experience of teaching learners with social, emotional and mental health needs or ASC is essential to this role, as is the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with young people, staff, parents/carers and the community.
The role will involve regular travel within Kirklees, therefore, the ability to drive with access to a car is essential.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change the lives our learners and we truly believe you will find working here a rewarding experience. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wishes to make a difference to learners who are not accessing education full-time, and wish to teach with flexibility.
We do encourage you to submit your application form as soon as possible, as we reserve the right to change the closing date for a vacancy and interview before the advertised closing date.
We are committed to safeguarding our young people and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check and appropriate referencing.
During the shortlisting process, Pivot will carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of its due diligence.
