Do you believe in the transformative power of education?

We offer the time and support that ensures, together, we can shape futures.

Join our mission to inspire and empower learners, making a lasting impact.

At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 2 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with traumatic backgrounds.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistant (also referred to here as a Learning and Behaviour Mentor) to support our young people across Pivot 6.

Our Pivot 6 provision offers specialist support for KS4 learners who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school. Our aim is to prepare learners academically and socially so they may transition back into mainstream school and be successful. Our provision, and therefore the role, is currently based over two sites, in Bradley, Huddersfield and Wibsey, Bradford; travel between the two sites is approx. 15 minutes.

This is a key role supporting learners in a classroom environment by addressing the barriers to learning, in order to enable them to achieve their full potential. Through innovative, creative and professional practice, you will be able to engage our young people and inspire them to learn new skills and develop their self-esteem. Although this area can be challenging, we can offer the right candidate a supportive and fun working environment.

Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change the lives of our learners and we truly believe you will find working here a rewarding experience.

Interview date: 18 June 2025

Start date: 1 September 2025

We are committed to safeguarding our young people and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check and appropriate referencing.

During the shortlisting process, Pivot will carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of its due diligence.
