At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 2 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with traumatic backgrounds.

We have a number of sites across West Yorkshire and to support the growth of Pivot, we are expanding our central people team.

We are currently seeking a conscientious individual to join the team as a Trainee HR Officer. Working alongside the Associate Director of People and People Manager, you will provide guidance and support to managers on a number of HR issues including recruitment, performance management and attendance. Day to day, you will be responsible for all administrative aspects of HR, including the on boarding of new staff and maintaining accurate data and filing systems.

If you are looking to develop a career in HR, this could be the role for you. We are committed to supporting the right candidate to achieve their CIPD qualification, in order to develop career progression within the role. We are looking for someone with a proven interest in HR and employment law, with excellent organisation skills, a confident and positive approach and the ability to work and stay calm under pressure. The ideal candidate will have the ability to establish and build relationships across all our sites, whilst providing a professional HR service.

This is an exciting opportunity at Pivot to gain generalist HR experience within a growing, fast paced organisation.

This role will be based at our central team hub in Kirklees (HD2 1GN), with travel to our Bradford setting as required.

Interviews for this role will be taking place on 11 November 2025.

We are committed to safeguarding our young people and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check and appropriate referencing.

During the shortlisting process, Pivot will carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of its due diligence.
