    Because children deserve better.

Like schools across the country, we're celebrating Like schools across the country, we're celebrating GCSE results. But if you ask us, that's only ever been half the story.

Long before any of us were thinking about exam results, our parents were fighting daily, exhausting battles just to get their children into a place of security, safety and nurturing. The school run. The years spent searching for somewhere that would simply understand their child.

We stand with our parents. Today, and every day.

Ask any parent what mattered most and they'll tell you the same thing first: their child finally felt safe. Today proves you don't have to choose between safe and ambitious.

So proud of every one of you.

We were proud to welcome the Prime Minister to Piv We were proud to welcome the Prime Minister to Pivot Kirklees on GCSE Results Day.

Mr Burnham was touring locations in West Yorkshire alongside Environment Secretary Dame Angela Eagle and Bradford West MP Naz Shah and caught up with our team at Grange Interlink Community Centre.

The PM met with staff, celebrated our students' outstanding achievements, and toured our new provision. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the dedication of our team and the success of our learners.

Congratulations to all our students on their brilliant results!

One school. One belief: Children Deserve Better.

Today we operate across seven sites. We support hundreds of young people across West Yorkshire and Humberside, who need specialist, community-connected education. We have welcomed learners who arrived exhausted, anxious, and carrying the weight of experiences in settings that couldn't reach them, and watched them leave with qualifications, confidence, and a belief in what they're capable of.

Ten years of staff who stayed, grew and built their careers here. Ten years of families who trusted us with the young people they love most. Ten years of commissioners who believed the model worked.

We are proud of every single year. And we are only just getting started.

Our Pivot 2030 Charter sets out where the next ten years will take us. More very soon.
The fifth commitment in our Pivot 2030 Charter is The fifth commitment in our Pivot 2030 Charter is Sustainability.

For us, that means building a model designed to last — in the way we work, the way we grow, and the environments we create for our learners.

It means investing in spaces that do more than house learning. Outdoor gyms where movement becomes part of the day. Gardens and green areas where a walk outside isn't a treat, it's a strategy. Great outdoor activities, cooking, camping and exploring. Calm, warm interiors where the environment itself lowers anxiety before a word is spoken.

The government's new guidance on dedicated teaching and support spaces for children with SEND — published this summer — puts this thinking at the centre of national policy.

At Pivot, it's been at the centre of ours for ten years.

Sustainability isn't just about the planet. It's about building something that endures — for learners, for staff, and for the communities we serve.

For many families, this is a wonderful time. For some, it can be a more complicated stretch, particularly when the routine and structure that the school day provides is suddenly gone.

If you're a family looking for a little extra support this summer, here are some useful starting points across West Yorkshire:

We'll be back in September with some very exciting news. In the meantime, take good care.

Dawn's daughter had been out of education for years before she found Pivot. Anxiety high, attendance low, school something to fear. Dawn cried in the car park on her first visit because she couldn't believe a place like Pivot existed.

Today, her daughter attends full time. She is happy. She wants to be there.

Over the past four weeks we have walked through the five commitments of the Pivot 2030 Charter — People, Places, Progress, Partnerships, Sustainability. Each one matters in its own right. Together, they make Dawn's sentence possible.

The Charter exists because of families like hers. Read it. Hold us to it. Tell us where we should be better — and please tell us if you, or a family you know, would benefit from a conversation about Pivot.

Because children deserve better. Not as a slogan. As a daily practice.

This weekend, our founder and CEO Michael Smith an This weekend, our founder and CEO Michael Smith and COO Kathryn Parkinson wrote for the Yorkshire Post about ten years of Pivot Group , and about why Yorkshire’s SEND system needs more than a white paper to catch up with the children waiting right now.

Since opening our first centre in 2016, we’ve grown from a handful of learners to more than 170 staff working with hundreds of children across Yorkshire each year.

That growth was never the goal. It’s the visible edge of demand that’s been rising, quietly, across our region for a decade.
