    Because children deserve better.

"She immediately felt safe." Sometimes, those fou "She immediately felt safe."

Sometimes, those four words say everything.

This week, one of our wonderful parents, Dawn, joined The Toby Foster Show to share her family's journey of finding the right educational environment for her daughter.

Talking about Pivot, Dawn said:

"The main thing was it didn't feel like a mainstream school and she immediately felt safe and comfortable and was able to thrive."

Creating an environment where young people feel safe, valued and able to flourish is at the heart of everything we do. Hearing those words from a parent means the world to us.

A huge thank you to Dawn for sharing her family's story so openly, and to Toby Foster for helping shine a light on the experiences of so many families navigating the SEND and alternative provision landscape.

The fourth commitment in the Pivot 2030 Charter is The fourth commitment in the Pivot 2030 Charter is Partnerships.

Co-designing provision with Leeds, Kirklees, Bradford and other Local Authorites. Building reintegration routes with mainstream schools and colleges. Creating work-based learning opportunities with local employers. Sharing insight nationally to help shape a more inclusive system.

Most of all: active partnership with families. Not consultation after the decisions are made.

The word that came up most often when we asked colleagues what Pivot stood for was trust. Trust with families. Trust with local authorities. Trust earned slowly, through consistency.

Partnership is not paperwork. It is trust.

What an event. Our end of year celebration at Piv What an event.

Our end of year celebration at Pivot Leeds was everything we hoped it would be, and then some. A room full of brilliant young people, proud staff and very special memories that will stay with everyone for a long time to come.

To every learner who joined us, you made it an event to remember. And to the team who made it happen, thank you. 💚

What a special day at Pivot Group Academy Leeds. What a special day at Pivot Group Academy Leeds.

We were delighted to welcome the BBC Look North team for a special recording at our Leeds academy. We heard from our Michael Smith and Cheryl Lotherington Head of Leeds Academy, but the real highlights came from some of our fantastic parents, who said everything that needed to be said, in a nutshell.

Watch out for the feature on BBC Look North. Check out iPlayer as well.
We couldn't be prouder of everyone who took part.

The third commitment in the Pivot 2030 Charter is The third commitment in the Pivot 2030 Charter is Progress.

Improving attendance, wellbeing and engagement year on year. Supporting at least 80% of learners into education, training or employment. Tracking long-term progress through alumni and family engagement. Expanding vocational pathways aligned to regional skills needs.
Outcomes is a word that does a lot of heavy lifting in education, and not always honestly. For the children we work with, the things that actually matter are sometimes quieter than what gets counted.

The Charter commits us to publishing what we measure and how we measure it — including the things that don't make for a tidy chart. From 2027, an annual report against the Charter.

Unit 7 Thorne Office Park , Monckton Road, Wakefield , WF2 7AN

We’re welcoming local authority colleagues, commissioners, school leaders, social workers and families to our POP Wakefield Hub, for a look inside a model that’s reaching young people with special educational needs in a way traditional provision can’t always manage.

“These young people can achieve — they just need the right support, at the right time, delivered the right way,” says Ollie Roberts, POP Site Lead.

POP is part of Pivot’s 2030 Charter commitment to Places: building hubs where communities need them, not only where buildings already exist.

If you work with a young person who might benefit — or you would like to find out more — speak to us today or get in touch with Bev.Simpson@pivot-group.co.uk

The second commitment in the Pivot 2030 Charter is The second commitment in the Pivot 2030 Charter is Places.

Expanding local access. Establishing a regional hub network. Keeping each hub small, sustainable and community-connected.

A new learning hub in Wakefield mark the beginning of a wider regional network across Yorkshire and the Humber. Each will reflect the calm, relationship-centred approach of every Pivot school, rooted in the local community it serves.

The 2030 ambition: every learner within ten miles of a Pivot space that feels like home.
Not expansion for its own sake. A recognition that geography should never be the reason a child doesn't get the support they need.
