🎨 Creativity as a vehicle for confidence and skill development 🎨

Last term, our LINKS4U learners collaborated on an art project exploring identity, aspiration and personal growth.

What began as a creative exercise evolved into a structured, skills-based learning experience. Learners developed literacy through artist statements, maths through measurement and layout planning, and strengthened teamwork and problem-solving throughout the process.

The final piece represents more than creativity. It reflects resilience, aspiration and a strong sense of belonging.

Projects like this demonstrate how alternative provision can integrate academic development with confidence-building and personal expression.

We’re pleased to see our new music room at Pivot Leeds taking shape.

Creative provision is more than enrichment. For many young people, music supports emotional regulation, focus and self-belief. It can become the starting point for rebuilding confidence and reconnecting with learning.

As we look ahead to launching Pivot Charter 2030, investing in spaces like this reflects our commitment to creating multiple pathways into success.

Staff from Pivot recently attended the Schools and Academies show at the NEC, Birmingham. They particularly enjoyed the discussion about building a safeguarding strategy around children's digital use.

The event provided valuable insights into the latest thinking around educational issues across a range of subjects including safeguarding, AI, additional needs and digital technology.

Camping Skills Development in Bradley Woods

Our Duke of Edinburgh programme at Pivot Kirklees is in gathering speed as we plan camping and develop our camping skills in Bradley Woods. Our learners have achieved brilliant results so far with the wide range of life skills needed for Duke of Edinburgh. They have planned and cooked nutritional food outside, put up tents, continued to expand their walking & back pack skills and learned some bushcraft. They have shown great teamwork and resilience, and had a lot of fun!

Pivot Kirklees Salus House are so excited to share that we are taking part in the PDAP Christmas Wish Tree appeal. PDAP supports families to find light in dark times. Our Tree is festooned with Christmas Wishes, just waiting for our lovely people to whisk one away and make someone's day. PDAP run the Christmas Wish Tree event to give people a magical experience over the holiday season. How it works:

🔖Choose a gift tag
🎁Buy the gift described on the tag
🎄Return is unwrapped in a gift bag and leave under the tree by 7th December.
