Exciting News! We are proud to be offering our first ever teaching apprenticeships! This is a fantastic opportunity for two members of our team to work towards qualified teacher status (QTS) whilst making a difference to the lives of our young people. Abby started her Primary with SEND Apprenticeship in July and Harry has just begun his Secondary with History Apprenticeship. I am sure you will join us in wishing them happiness and success in their teaching careers!

National Opportunity Day is an annual event that takes place on 7th August. It was founded by Glasgow Kelvin College to celebrate and highlight the various opportunities available to individuals, particularly those who may feel discouraged or unsure about their future paths. The day encourages young people to explore options like vocational training, apprenticeships, work-based learning and alternative higher education paths.

With the weather getting warmer we feel it is important to speak to young people about water safety. Child drowning remains a significant concern in the UK, with recent reports highlighting both the prevalence and preventable nature of these tragic incidents. Between April 2022 and March 2023, 41 children in England died due to drowning, marking a doubling of such deaths since 2019–20. On 26 June 2025, we held a special leavers’ event for our Year 11 students who are finishing their time at Pivot this year. We celebrated with a trip to Riva Blu, where everyone enjoyed a delicious selection of Italian pizzas and pastas. It was a fantastic day out for both staff and students!
