Initially inspired by their involvement with Bumpy, the learners were eager to demonstrate the knowledge they had gained in weekly training sessions. The day was a runaway success with over 20 guests, including blood bank riders, members of local motorbike clubs and family friends, all enjoying conversation, coffee and cakes with young people from Pivot Academy. On behalf of the learners, thank you to all those who attended and supported the event – whether you baked a cake or helped eat it!

Food Technology will never be the same. Not one, Food Technology will never be the same.
Not one, not two, but three courses and a healthy eating menu. Is there no end to the brilliance of Group 1?

Group 1 has spent some time learning about what makes food healthy. They have looked at personal menus, their own diet and exercise, and investigated some new recipes to make their favourite foods more healthy.
The culmination of this project was a Come Dine With Me Challenge. The group rose to the occasion with a tremendous three course meal, using their new ideas and creative imagination. The pièce de résistance was certainly the Chicken Noodle Stir Fry, which was perfectly executed and tasted amazing.
Well done Group 1. Another skill mastered.
Our new interactive whiteboards are an absolute hi Our new interactive whiteboards are an absolute hit with our students.
Following a technology review in the Autumn term this year, we have upgraded our network and equipment to inspire and captivate. These 86” multi touch interactive boards have done just that. Either as a focal point for learning, a tool for group, pair or individual learning, these devices have transformed learning in our classrooms. Students just love to use them, and all the tools they offer, to reinforce their understanding and learn new things.
This technology review also resulted in students being allocated a personal laptop, complete with earphones, visualisers in classrooms, a suite of new software and a look to how we can harness AI to improve outcomes. Watch this space!
